Inspired by the fusion of nature and nurture Jonathan twists the stems and twigs of young trees into fantastical walking sticks, staffs and wands. He leaves the shaped trees to grow for several years, allowing the forms to set and strengthen. Jonathan incorporates semi precious stones and glass and into his pieces, these get locked in as the tree grows round them. He uses wire to induces spiralling in the stems, a process created naturally by honeysuckle in the wild.
